Kuruvā Grama Panchayat is situated in the Mankada Block of Perinthalmanna Taluk in Malappuram District. Spread across the Kuruvā and Kodur (Pazhamallur) villages, Kuruvā Grama Panchayat has an area of 35.79 square kilometres.The boundaries of the Panchayat are as follows: on the northern side, Koottilangadi, Kodur and Makkaraparamba Grama Panchayats and Malappuram Municipality; on the eastern side, Makkaraparamba, Moorkanad and Puzhakkattiri Grama Panchayats; on the southern side, Edappal, Marakkara and Moorkanad Grama Panchayats; and on the western side, Kodur, Ponmala and Marakkara Grama Panchayats.The present-day Kuruvā Panchayat area was once part of the old Valluvanad region.
